Death By Doxy

LETS GO Week 2 down, 4 more to go here @ MTC. Now we're going full French, so it's about to get messy. I feel like I've been in African High School Musical the past 2 weeks, mixed with church camp—not mad about it. Been another successful week full of chicken, rice, and the Holy Ghost. Been learning a little bit of French already, and it's quite difficult when I have to speak to fluent French speakers for assignments. I'm really good at bon appétit and bonne soirée. President Lords has put in his time and is going home this week, so that means rumors on the street have been nuts. Can't remember what apostle is coming to set him apart and talk to us, but I'm looking forward to that. Presi also gave an amazing last devo Saturday night about becoming one of the chosen and not just one of the called. Effort is celestial, and that's how we can better ourselves. We are the ones who get to choose what kind of disciple we want to be! Few highlights of the week: ...

I've never felt more at home in my life! Besides the paparazzi I receive everywhere (Elder Hungunga, I'm talking to you), I swear I don't even realize I'm white. These people speak to me LOL. I know I'm only in the MTC, but they just make my heart so happy. Everybody is so kind and sweet. The MTC here legit has zero rules. The classes are like 30-45 minutes maybe, with breaks, but SO spiritual. Honestly, it's the way to go because then I don't fall asleep. I love my teachers! Bro. Adjabeng and Ballo Bi—try saying that every day haha—but they make the French seem slightly possible. Also, my P-day changes every week, so stay tuned. Me and Sister Tui laugh SO HARD through each day, so I say my prayers for her because God knew I needed to laugh through this! Trauma bond  I swear I'm actually learning, but I figured I'd tell y'all some things you can laugh at hopefully like I do. Taking the cake are these elders, man. I've somehow received quite a...

I'm alive! I made it through the two-day travel day and got to the MTC. Almost got abducted at the airport, but I am here and well. It's been a wild three days, but boy do I love it. The Africans are so nice and keep me humble too. Quick rundown of the last few days... When we got here, we got our rooms and companions. Sister Tui Masaga is from New Zealand, and she's so funny. I also have another companion, and she's from Kenya. I could not tell you what her last name is because she corrects me every time I try, and each time it sounds different. She's so funny—she takes selfies all through class too. We also took pregnancy tests! Pretty positive mine came back negative, but I'm not sure. I will have to say though, after the pregnancy tests, a few sisters definitely disappeared. Everyone here is so funny, and I love all of their accents. All of the sisters' braids are so pretty, and they are all gorgeous! When I walk into the cafeteria, everyone stares at me...
