Africa The Land Of Adventure

I'm alive!
I made it through the two-day travel day and got to the MTC. Almost got abducted at the airport, but I am here and well.

It's been a wild three days, but boy do I love it. The Africans are so nice and keep me humble too.

Quick rundown of the last few days... When we got here, we got our rooms and companions. Sister Tui Masaga is from New Zealand, and she's so funny. I also have another companion, and she's from Kenya. I could not tell you what her last name is because she corrects me every time I try, and each time it sounds different. She's so funny—she takes selfies all through class too.

We also took pregnancy tests! Pretty positive mine came back negative, but I'm not sure. I will have to say though, after the pregnancy tests, a few sisters definitely disappeared.

Everyone here is so funny, and I love all of their accents. All of the sisters' braids are so pretty, and they are all gorgeous!

When I walk into the cafeteria, everyone stares at me because I'm a white sister. And when I sit down, they all want to shake my hand and introduce themselves. Everyone's eyes grow when I say I'm from America, and they just keep staring. The elders need to chill here!

Right now, I'm sicker than a dog! The sisters tell me I have pneumonia because class is so cold with the AC, and then it's so hot outside. Waking up in sweat doesn't really help, but good thing Mommy packed me mega Theraflu.

But overall, I'm loving it here and learning tons already. Something that stuck out to me this week was when the president explained to us the story of Peter. Jesus said, "If you love me, feed my sheep." We can tell Jesus we love Him over and over, but we can show Him our love by actually helping to feed His sheep. Take that how you will.

Thank you for all the prayers! I can definitely feel them, and they help!

Love all of you!
