Life Is Better In A Bikini
Wha whaa?!
Crazy week out here yet again! Have not gotten malaria yet, so life is still kicking!
This week has been so rewarding, so hard, and so exciting.
This week God has been dropping people into our hands. If any of you were losing faith about whether your prayers are really being heard, let me be your testament because God DOES.
Won't lie—contacting all day is brutal out here, so I've been praying we will be led to the people who are really ready. We have to move on from people pretty fast because there is so much work to do, and there are so many other people who are ready and will accept our message that we need to find them first. Anyway, we were teaching one of our amis, frère Laurant, and this guy just walks up, asks to join, and plops down next to us. The next day, we followed up, and he took three pages of notes on the Book of Mormon and what he learned... it was so precious! We ended up putting both of them on date for baptism that day! We are seriously just God's physical hands out here.
So many cool stories, and it's cool to watch the work unfold! I wish I had the patience to write it all out for y’all, but unfortunately, I do not.
There are so many people I could write about and how badly I want them to accept our message because I know their lives could be better. Even with just the gospel, their lives could change so much out here.
Zone conference yesterday was pretty cool—I actually understood most of it! My favorite part was the sandwiches they made for us! Top meal I've had in two months. On a real note, I learned so much, and it was nice to be taught instead of being the one teaching for a bit!
Random:
Escaped the voodoo house again this week.
THEY GOT HÄAGEN-DAZS OUT HERE! I was going to save mine for after a hard day, but my self-control flew out the window, and that thing got to my stomach before it even saw the fridge.
I kid you not, I haven't slept a wink this week because, in the span of two days, I saw the BIGGEST spider, cockroach, and lizard in my room I've ever seen in my life. Not even funny waking up with five new bites from I don't even know what bug.
My top used sentence so far is: "Est-ce que vous avez un Coke glassé?"
Saw the fattest nana walking around in a tank top (not even covering the bikini parts) that said, "Life is better in a bikini," and it made me laugh so hard. I'm sure she had no idea what the shirt even said, but she caught me trying to read her shirt, and she asked me, "You like?" I'm still not really sure if she was talking about the fact that life is better in a bikini or other things... but it made me laugh regardless.
Had a little birthday function for frère Josué and his brother Emanuel at Degue House!!!
JE VOUS AIME TOUS!
